Erica received her PhD in Medical Science from the University of Toronto, where she studied islet cell fate decision and beta cell biology. In the summer of 2014, she joined the Yi lab as research fellow to continue working on translational diabetes research. Erica currently focuses on beta cell protection in type 1 diabetes and she hope her scientific background will contribute to understand diseases and help quality of life.
